# Using the Inbox

The Inbox page is split into two panels: the notification list on the left and the detail view on the right.

## Notification List (Left Panel)

Notifications are grouped by time: **Today**, **Yesterday**, **This Week**, and **Earlier**. Unread notifications have bold text and a blue dot on the right.

### Filtering

Click the **filter icon** to filter by notification type:
- Assigned to you
- Comments
- Mentions
- Status changes
- Mentioned in update

A small **X** button appears next to the filter icon when a filter is active. Click it to clear.

### Display Settings

Click the **sliders icon** to toggle display options:
- **Show snoozed** — includes snoozed notifications in the list
- **Show read** — hides read notifications when off
- **Show unread first** — sorts unread items to the top

### Multi-select & Bulk Actions

Hover over any notification to reveal a **checkbox**. Select multiple items, then use the bulk action bar:
- **Read** — mark all selected as read
- **Archive** — archive all selected
- **Delete** — delete all selected
- **X** — clear selection

### Bulk Menu ("..." button)

Next to the Inbox title, the three-dot menu offers:
- **Mark all as read** — marks every notification as read
- **Delete all read** — removes all read notifications
- **Delete all** — removes everything

### Keyboard Shortcuts

- **J / K** — navigate down / up
- **E** — archive selected notification
- **H** — snooze selected notification

## Detail Panel (Right Panel)

Click a notification to see its details on the right:

- **Notification banner** — shows the type badge, time, and actor
- **Message** — the actual notification content in a highlighted area
- **Issue card** — when the notification is linked to a task, shows an embedded preview with:
  - Issue number and title
  - Description preview
  - Interactive properties: **Status**, **Priority**, **Assignee** (dropdown selectors)
  - **Labels** — click to attach/detach team labels
  - Project name and due date
- **Activity** — full comment thread (latest first)
- **Comment input** — reply directly from the inbox

### Top Bar Actions

| Icon | Action |

| Clock | Snooze — choose when to be reminded |
| Archive box | Archive — remove from active list |
| Mail | Mark as unread (only for read items) |
| External link | Open issue — navigate to the full issue page |
| Trash | Delete — permanently remove |

## Notification Preferences

Go to **Settings > Notifications** to control which notifications you receive:

- Each notification type has an **In-app** toggle and an **Email** toggle
- In-app notifications are **on by default** (opt-out model)
- Email notifications are **off by default** (opt-in)
- Changes take effect immediately after saving
